Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 2 (IDO2) is a novel IDO1-related gene discovered and patented by LIMR researchers, and may play a role in T and B cell immunity (Metz et al 2007). Recent studies at LIMR have defined roles for IDO2 in inflammation and autoimmune disease. Emerging evidence postulates that IDO2 and IDO1 function in a common genetic pathway, and that IDO2 is the more evolutionarily ancestral gene. This suggests that it may be more important than IDO1 to human biology and disease. Currently available LIMR antibodies recognize human and mouse proteins (polyclonal) or mouse proteins (monoclonal).
Antigen Information
Complete murine IDO2 protein
Source Antibody/Purification Information
Mouse monoclonal 1HC, isotype IgG
Protein G purified
Species Cross Reactivity
Mouse, not human IDO2; other species have not been tested
Applications
Western, IF, ELISA. IHC testing has been negative. IDO2 is expressed in a few select cell types and levels of protein expression appear to be very low, perhaps below the level of detection by IHC.
